UniForum at ¸£Àû¼§

Led by  UniForum is an international benchmarking exercise that supports postsecondary institutions in gaining a deeper insight into their professional service delivery to see what's working well and where improvements can be made.

Benchmarking is an important part of the Queen's Renew Program as it enables the university to compare how professional services are delivered at Queen’s with peer institutions in Canada and around the world.

Beginning in spring 2025, Queen’s launched the second year of its participation in the UniForum global benchmarking program for professional service operations. Queen’s will be collecting data for the UniForum program through the following two processes:

  • Spring-Summer 2025: Activity Data Collection, which looks at how professional service activities are delivered across campus by both employees and suppliers, as well as the relative cost of delivering those activities.

  • Fall 2025: Service Effectiveness Survey, which provides insights into employee satisfaction levels with the university’s professional services.

Activity Data Collection

The 2025 activity data collection is currently underway. Participants have received direct communication and support from the Renew Program Office.

Collected Queen's activity data shows:

  • Total professional services capacity across the university, including both in-house and outsourced work

  • Where in the university each activity/service occurs

  • The relative cost of delivering professional services

Service Effectiveness Survey

The service effectiveness survey is an opportunity to give feedback on various aspects of Queen’s professional services.

Survey participants are invited based on UniForum methodology, which is standardized across all universities that participate in the UniForum shared data collection and benchmarking. Participants are people in the Queen's community who, based on their role, use a wide range of university services.

Gathering comprehensive data through activity analysis and employee feedback helps the university make informed, evidence-based decisions that enhance service effectiveness and align operations with national and global best practices.
