This past Friday, April 25, students from across North America participated in the virtual NAGS 3-Minute Thesis competition, sharing their research to a non-expert audience. Dilakshan Srikanthan (PhD, Translational Medicine) represented Queen's and did a fantastic job showcasing his research, and received the People's Choice award for his efforts - congratulations Dilakshan!
The winner of the NAGS 3MT was Cristina Hirschbiegel, PhD student in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her talk was titled “Nanozymes for Smarter Cancer Treatmentâ€.
Second place was Sai Abasolo, a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at Stony Brook University. The title was “Growing Bones: Body Not Includedâ€.
There were 15 finalists with Dilakshan being one of the 15 chosen. This year, the NAGS 3MT was hosted by Concordia University.
